Third Year Design Studio

The laundromat was created as an oasis
from the mundaneness of doing everyday chores, like laundry. Because the site is surrounded by an asphalt parking lot on
three sides and a busy arterial on the fourth, efforts were made to create visual barriers
to allow laundromat patrons some sort of escape from the less than ideal site conditions. Divided into four different types
of gardens, laundromat patrons are free to spend their time in whichever garden suits their mood on a given day.
